About sumoplay
Sumoplay is the first Space project. It began with just a few doodles for a T- shirt design. Although the T-shirt didn’t get made but we love the ideas of a little sumo wearing a changeable costume, so we began to think that it will be really cool if we make this idea into a designer toy and keep adding different costume design to the character. The possibility is endless!
Sumo + Cosplay
Sumoplay is the abbreviation of Sumo + Cosplay. It is a new sport inspired by traditional sumo wrestling and the cosplay subculture. The sport takes place in a ring like the traditional sumo wrestling while the Rikishi wears a special costume that provides protection and enhance their strength during the match. Each costume is designed specifically to the rakishi who wears it and provides the wrestler unique fighting power in the ring.
Story
Sumoplay was originated from a small town called Sumotown. It’s a place where sumo wrestling is the most popular sport and every kid dreams of becoming a great Rakishi.
There’s a young boy named Sumo Little. Just like his name, Sumo Little is small and skinny. Even his strength is too weak to become a sumo wrestler, he still dreams to become a strong and power Rakishi.
Sumo Little loves to dress like superheroes. He believes wearing their costumes give him power. But his love for cosplay and science makes him the target for bullies in school, especially the infamous leader, The Big Bear. However, Sumo Little did not get discouraged by the bullies, instead, he has an idea to transform his habits into a secret weapon that will help him to be come a great Rakishi.
With his ample knowledge of science and mechanics, he started to create a power outfit that will equip him with different strengths such as enhanced punch, faster speed and shockproof protection. After a long period of creating and testing, the power outfit is finally ready. Sumo Little signed himself up to the annual Sumo Tournament in school. That was the first time he tried out his power outfit in the ring, and not only did he successfully defeated his opponent, The Big Bear, but he also won the respect from other kids. Since then, the new sport “Sumoplay” was born. It allows everyone to be a Rakish, and make many kids’ dreams come true.

The movie of Sumoplay follows Sumo Little’s journey of becoming a great rakishi despite his physical weakness and having a different interest then other kids.
TOy
We are currently producing two designer toys for Sumoplay. A 6” Sumo Little and a 7” Sumo Classic V01. Each of them comes with a small dohyo stage.
